The colorful illustrations from “Pompiliu the Pifon and the Journey beyond the Rainbow” are meant to bring joy to all ages, 0-99 years old. The book was written by a very close friend of mine, Ioan Andrei Puican and published at Univers Publishing House in 2019.
I had no idea what a Pifon is until I started to color it. You read it right, it was a project where my input was coloring. And I wore the graphic artist hat for creating the book’s layout. An atypical project between two very good friends who met on paper as well: Ion drew the lines, I filled them with colors. I felt like a kid again, coloring within the contour, with the liberty to choose whatever color I felt.
Our friendship on the page worked so well that now Pompiliu is one of my favorite characters. It’s made of words, curiosity and courage. Colors crafted by me and lines imagined by Ion. You’ll discover in colorful illustrations what the rainbow worf looks like and many other gems.
Besides the story about the great adventures of Pifon, this is also the story about a friendship that went from real life straight on paper, completing each other in lines and colors.
